
Laura Alexiou (pictured above
in the pink), the Sabrina Black Foundation's first adopted cancer
patient, lost her battle to cancer on October 5th, 2008. Her
passing was even more shocking because she and her family attended the
Buddy's Pizza Sabrina Black Foundation one day prior, and was the life
of the party.

Laura Ann
Alexiou, resident of St. Clair Shores, died peacefully
October 5, 2008 in Mt. Clemens Regional Hospital. She
was 38 years of age.
Laura was born in Southfield on October 21, 1969,
daughter of Virginia and the late Richard Kucharski. She
was united in marriage to her loving husband, Matthew,
on September 28, 1995 in Roseville. Laura worked for All
About Hydraulics for many years retiring due to her
health on August of 2007. She enjoyed painting, puzzles,
and surfing the web. She was a loving and dedicated
woman who will be deeply missed by the many she has
touched in her lifetime.
Laura is survived by her dear husband, Matthew;
cherished children, Ambur and Bradley; loving mother,
Virginia Kucharski; beloved brothers, Michael (Paula),
Richard (Peggy), and Gary (Valerie) Kucharski. She was
preceded in death by her father, Richard.
Visitation will be held in Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser on Wednesday 3pm
until the time of service at 7pm. A memorial mass will
be celebrated on Friday in St. Lucy Catholic Church.

Laura was owed $5000
on her original grant from The Foundation. The Foundation
will write a check for that full amount, with the hope that it
will cover memorial costs and any outstanding hospital bills.
